World high scores table
Because we’ve added a scoring system to the game we can now set a challenge to clans and players to see who is the best at Half-life 2, anyone can compete both as groups cooperating to get a high team score and as individuals in racing and bounty hunter modes.

Coop bonus points
To get a good team score in Cooperative mode bonuses are given for players completing the level together and helping their teammates because if they die the whole team suffers a penalty.
When a player reaches the end of the level he receives 50 bonus points and all other members of the team receive a 10 point bonus. If a player dies or is eliminated then he loses 50 points and all other members of the team receive a -10 point penalty. The high score is the total team points at the end of the section of the game (in the demo its from the start of the chapter 3 to the end of chapter 4).

Racing bonus points
In Racing mode its all about the individual, players are encouraged to do any dirty trick (and in the vast world of hl2 there are many dirty tricks to be discovered) they can to get ahead and reach the end of the level first. Friendly fire is on and players get unlimited lives so it’s a fast furious kill fest but players don’t get points for killing their team members only for npcs. This encourages players to get out there and kill npcs as you gain nothing for spawn camping .
When a player reaches the end of the level he gets a bonus for his finishing position
